Type "SPMA" Single Package Air Handling Units

The SPMA range of air handling units are primarily designed for the small size installation where access and low cost are of prime consideration.

Units are of anodised, extruded aluminium framework construction with double skin insulated panels offering good thermal properties and maximum acoustic power loss through casings. Special purpose built designs are available on request.

Capacity

SPMA range air handling units are available as standard in six different sizes, SPMA 10 to SPMA60 , covering capacities from 0.l0m³/s to 4.09m³/s.

Selection

Selection is usually dependent on coil velocity. Three duties are listed for each unit;2.0m/s and 2.5m/s for cooling applications, and 3.6m/s for general ventilation applications.
Once the unit size has been established, an indication of the fan selection, together with motor power requirements and induct sound spectrum, can be determined using the total static pressure, obtained by adding the typical air pressure drops for the individual components to the ductwork resistance external to the unit.

Final confirmation of fan, motor and coil details will be given on receipt of an order.

Arrangements

The main body of the unit is generally supplied in one section although, as an optional extra it can be supplied in two or more sections for ease of access.
Six standard arrangements are listed below although many more can be incorporated. The sequence of components may also be varied to suit specific applications

1.  Fan Section only.
2.  Fan and filter section.
3.  Fan, filter and heater.
4.  Fan, filter, heater and cooling coil (or frost heater).
5.  Fan, filter, heater and mixing box.
6.  Fan, filter, heater, cooling coil and mixing box.
